Mayor’s Fitness Council Student Ambassador Program

As outlined in the SA2020 community vision, health and fitness is one of San Antonio’s top priority areas.  The Student Ambassador Program is an integral part of the Mayor’s Fitness Council efforts to create a healthier city.

The mission of the Mayor's Fitness Council Student Ambassador Program is to involve the San Antonio youth in Mayor Castro's initiative to improve the health of San Antonio.  Student Ambassadors represent the Mayor's Fitness Council at their school by promoting and encouraging healthy living at their campus and in their communities. Each student ambassador is responsible for implementing a strategy at their school campus to improve physical activity or nutrition. Student Ambassadors also represent the Mayor’s Fitness Council at community events in San Antonio like Síclovía
